He studied at the College of Fine Art in Hongik, the University of London, and the Seoul National University. This made Kim especially understand the differences between East and West, thus influencing his design style which fuses those contrasts. After his studies Jeong Seob Kim set out to find a niche that would define his identity as an independent designer.

He believes everything in the world is formed by smaller units and the units themselves consist of smaller entities, too. This attitude reflects on his work's composition, which displays single objects built of different visual units. KIM creates its furniture from materials such as copper, aluminum, lacquered volcanic stone, fiberglass reinforced plastic or cement.
